SPA Vent fans still operating at Crofty Mine since 2008
Reliability is a huge priority for us at SPA, but every so often we're reminded exactly why it matters.
Recently, we learned that a pair of tunnel ventilation fans we supplied back in 2008 are still in operation today. 🙌
The equipment was supplied to Western United Mines during their efforts to re-open the historic South Crofty mine in Cornwall and consisted of two 700mm / 30kW tunnel fans complete with 2-speed starter panels.
Eighteen years later, those fans are still doing the job they were designed for.
In demanding mining environments, equipment reliability isn't just a nice-to-have, it's essential. That's why hearing stories like this is so rewarding. It reinforces the importance of supplying robust, dependable solutions that stand the test of time.
