Joseph Gallagher invests in UK-first Trenchless Technology to support UK’s Green infrastructure

We have recently expanded our tunnelling capabilities with the addition of a Herrenknecht AVN 1500 ID. For this deployment, we have specified a mixed‑ground cutting head to effectively manage the variable geological conditions anticipated on our project in Liverpool Bay.
The AVN 1500 ID is engineered for versatility and safe intervention, featuring an accessible cutter chamber that enables cutting tools to be changed or inspected directly within the machine. This model integrates seamlessly with our existing fleet infrastructure, including the control cabin, jacking frame, and slurry pump systems, ensuring operational efficiency and minimising setup time.
This investment further strengthens our capacity to deliver complex microtunnelling works in challenging environments while maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
