This month’s first safety award was given to Matthew Lawless for observing an obstruction in front of the eye wash station in the workshop. Whilst checking first aid points, Matthew noticed that a loaded pallet had been left in front of the eye wash station in the main workshop, making it difficult to reach in case of emergency. Matthew reported this and ensured the pallet was safely moved elsewhere.

This month’s second safety award goes to Malcolm Lawless for his observation on safety of the front workshop door. The main workshop door cannot be seen through, so when two people meet at opposite sides of the door, it’s very easy to take a hard hit from the door, especially on the fingers/ hand when reaching for the door as it opens. Malcolm took note of this and made an observation, as well as addressing the issue with management to try and address the issue and help find a solution.
